Delete your Pretzly account
Pretzly, the German vocabulary app for Android and iPhone, is made by Pavel Vaitsikhouski. You can delete your account and its data in the app, or ask us to do it by email.
In the app
- Open Pretzly and go to the Profile tab.
- Tap your @nickname at the top.
- Tap Delete account and confirm.
The account and its data are deleted at once, and the app starts over as a new user.
The nickname, and with it Delete account, appears once you have signed in with Google or Apple. If you never signed in, sign in first and then delete the account: your progress and the sign-in are deleted together.
By email
If you can't use the app, write to faulingo.app@gmail.com with the subject “Delete my Pretzly account”. Send it from the email address of the Google or Apple account you signed in with, and tell us your nickname, so we can find the account and know the request comes from you. We delete the account within 30 days and reply when it is done.
What is deleted
- Your profile: nickname, display name, email address, native language, level and daily goal.
- The words you added or edited, with their notes and example sentences.
- Your tags, including the ones you shared. People who joined a tag of yours lose it.
- Your memberships of tags other people shared with you.
- Your answers, streaks, daily progress and statistics.
- Your sign-in with Google or Apple.
What is kept, and for how long
- Subscriptions are not cancelled. Cancel one in Google Play (Payments & subscriptions) or in your Apple ID settings before you delete the account. Google, Apple and RevenueCat, the service that tells the app what you bought, keep purchase records as tax and accounting law requires.
- Usage analytics (which screens and features were used, recorded by PostHog) and the subscription record at RevenueCat stay with those services after an in-app deletion. Ask by email and we delete them too, within 30 days.
- Backups: deleted data can remain in encrypted database backups for up to 30 days, until they are replaced.
- Words that come with the app are shared by everyone and are not yours to delete; your progress on them is deleted.
More about the data Pretzly keeps is in the privacy policy.
